Olympic Park 2016
where have all the flowers gone......
It is hard to imagine that only four years ago, this site hosted the Olympic Games.

The Government promised that the 2012 Olympics would regenerate an entire community for the direct benefit of everyone who lives there, and would give long term benefits to London’s tourism industry.

Some of the facilities such as the Aquatics Centre and the Copper Box have been converted and now open to the public.  They are now being used by London clubs and for some international events.

Rising costs - latest estimate is £323 million - of converting the Olympic Stadium to a new home for West Ham United have led to the resignation of the chairman of the Olympic Legacy group.

But there is little sign of local residents enjoying the once well manicured gardens. And even less evidence of many tourists.
