Scotland
 on the edge
Glasgow is now a vibrant city and the third biggest  in the UK.  However life in rural areas of the Highlands and Islands is very different. Whilst the lanscape is awe inspiring, life can be hard for the ageing population of around 200,000 people,  Things we take for normal can take on a new importance in a remote area. Public transport, internet connection, shopping, medical facilities.... the list goes on.

Much is being done to encourage people to move into these areas, but there is still a big concern as many of the younger generation move to the cities where life is easier and money more plentiful.
